In 2012 I entered a My Nikon Life Competition and won one of the prizes for my image! The details of the competition were as follows:
My Nikon Life Assignment Details
For this delicious assignment, we asked our entrants for their best mouth-watering story, told in both words and pictures, about a great food experience they have had.
It could have been anything from a visit to a memorable bar or restaurant, a meal created and styled at home, a food blog entry, or even an account of a memorable food-related experience.
Leading the judging panel for Phase 2 was Jamie Oliver. Jamie Oliver is a phenomenon in the world of food. He is one of the world’s best-loved television personalities and one of Britain’s most famous exports. Jamie has inspired people to spend more time enjoying being in the kitchen – and even start growing their own food!
The entries were judged on how the images captured the unique essence of the experience and how the words evoked a feeling of being ‘there’ sharing the moment.
Carly Hack was one of the winners with her image of macaroons. Jamie Olivers comment: “My favourite shot and such a simple explanation. The picture says it all. You could see this in a magazine and your mouth would start watering.”
I won a prize consisting of a Nikon P501 Camera as well as a $200 voucher at Chianti Classico. I was also requested as part of the prize to document my restaurant experience which was then published in the My Nikon Life Magazine – Edition #4
